Essential for preparations of trunk paste. Bentonite is a natural clay of volcanic origin mainly composed of silicate montmorillonite (hydrated silicate of aluminum, magnesium, calcium and sodium). The characteristic of this type of bentonite consists in its ability to create a molecular connection with the water,by includin it, holding and becoming with it, a kind of waterproofing gel which mechanically counteracts the onset of fungal diseases and to the movement of pests.
Bentonite is also used as a feed additive for animal food. The European classification code as a food additive is E558. The absorbing capacity of bentonite is effective as an active absorbent for mycotoxins.
Conditions of use of Bentonite
It is used in protective treatments with a dose of 700 g/100 liters of water and in combination with 350 grams of sulfur for the preparation of the mixture NAB (biodynamic). It has e great use in the dose of 500 g/100 liters of water + 200 g of copper sulphate, as it creates the hostile conditions for the development of cryptogamic.
