Hanna Instruments, GroLine series, HALO2 HI9810302 is a portable digital pH metre with Bluetooth technology, a soil tester designed to measure soil pH and temperature directly in indoor, outdoor, greenhouse and open-field cultivation. The integrated electrode with a conical glass tip allows for analysis directly in moist soil, eliminating the need to prepare soil suspensions for routine field checks. The instrument offers an accuracy of ±0.05 pH, automatic temperature compensation and IP65 protection. The Bluetooth connection to the free Hanna Lab app also allows measurements to be viewed, recorded and analysed via a smartphone or tablet.

Soil pH analysis with Bluetooth connectivity

The distinctive feature of the HALO2 for soil is its electrode with a conical glass tip, a PVDF body and an open junction, designed for direct contact with the soil. To take a measurement, simply make a small hole in the soil, moisten it with distilled or deionised water if necessary, and gently insert the probe until the reading stabilises. The system allows you to monitor pH in pots, growing media and cultivation areas, checking the conditions that influence nutrient availability and root uptake. The open junction and refillable gel electrolyte also allow the electrode to be cleaned and restored, maintaining its efficiency over time.
