CANNA Coco Coarse 50L

Coarse-grained, highly aerated coconut fibre substrate

CANNA Coco Coarse 50L is a coarse-grained coconut coir substrate developed for indoor and outdoor cultivation, as well as hydroponic systems, which require high aeration of the root zone and rapid drainage. The combination of selected, larger-sized coconut fibres, a reduced amount of fine particles and rice husks creates an open structure with an optimal air-to-water ratio. The substrate is fully buffered and lightly pre-fertilised, so it is ready for use in pots and irrigation systems without the need to add perlite or expanded clay.

Its drainage and water-retention properties make Coco Coarse suitable for both manual watering and automatic systems, including drip irrigation, ebb and flow, and gravity-fed systems. It is particularly suitable when frequent watering is required or when the root zone tends to remain more moist. The pre-fertilisation provides only a small initial supply: CANNA recommends using a fertiliser specifically formulated for coconut fibre from the very first watering. For most systems, CANNA COCO A&B is recommended; for more frequent watering and drainage of 10 per cent or more, CANNA COGr Vega and COGr Flores are recommended.
